Laser hair removal – How does it work?

Our hair removal treatments rely on a state of the art diode/erbium laser or intense pulsed light penetrating and neutralizing hair follicles. This process is very effective because the laser rays are directly absorbed by pigments in your hair follicles, destroying them from within, so surrounding areas are unaffected.
In essence, the intense energy of the laser permanently destroys the hair follicle.

Using lasers to remove hair

According to your individual needs, we have a wide range of light sources and lasers available. This equipment includes intense pulsed light (IPL), erbium YAG laser, and diode bulk heating laser. Here at Mountain View Dermatology & Aesthetics we generally use the Soprano® Laser system because it can treat very large areas of the body quickly and effectively. It’s a simple, easy and effective solution that provides permanent hair reduction and removal. Besides its superior permanent hair reduction and quickness it offers a very comfortable hair reduction/removal option.

How well does it work?

After a series of treatment you can see a possible 90% reduction in hair in the treated area. Results achieve such great results that very little maintenance treatments are needed.

Their processes were developed for the removal of hair with color. Still, since laser hair removal targets hairs which contain pigments, white or very light-colored hair isn’t unfortunately treatable. Our technology allows us to treat all skin types from very fair to darker skin types safely; however, suntan skin is still unteartable
