Restylane Silk puts the pucker back into your pout
Do you want fuller, richer lips? Would you like to put some of the pucker back into your pout, and have beautiful lips again? Restylane® Silk can help. Here at Mountain View Dermatology and Aesthetics in Tucson, we’ve been helping patients with Restylane Silk, which is an excellent lip filler.
Whether you’re seeing wrinkles around your lips from the effects of age, or whether you were simply born with lips that are too thin, dermal fillers such as Restylane Silk can help by restoring fullness as well as the dramatic effect you’ve been looking for.
What’s Restylane Silk?Silk is the latest addition to the already well-known family of Restylane dermal fillers. The FDA approved Restylane in 2005 for treating facial wrinkles, as well as for lip enhancement treatments to create fuller lips. Silk is formulated specifically for improved results for lips.
Silk and other members of the Restylane family are made from hyaluronic acid, which is found naturally in the body’s skin. It provides volume and holds moisture in the skin, giving it a youthful appearance.
Restylane Silk is a clear liquid gel which can be introduced directly into the lips in order to add volume and increase fullness. It also can reduce wrinkles which have formed around the mouth due to age, sun and daily habits. Injections are more comfortable because of the easy flow of the material.
Silk contains a small amount of lidocaine anesthetic, so any discomfort is minimal. Treatments take about thirty to sixty minutes to complete. Results are wrinkles are reduced by around 80% after one treatment. Your lips appear much fuller, and your smile is beautiful again.
How long does it last? The results are immediate, although they’ll fade a bit over time. You’ll have fuller, more luscious lips for about three to six months after a single treatment.
In one study, 98% of those who received Restylane® Silk reported improved lip fullness when surveyed two weeks after treatment, and 76% of them still reported full lips six months after treatment. Most of our patients schedule regular treatments to keep the lips fully enhanced for the long term.
