WHAT IS JUVEDERM?
Juvederm is a dermal filler that we often use as a non-surgical anti-wrinkle treatment. Our doctors can use it to immediately smooth the lines that are along each side of your mouth and and nose. This treatment may provide excellent results for up to a year under optimal conditions.
WHAT IS JUVEDERM MADE OF?
Juvederm dermal filler is based on hyaluronic acid (HA), which is found naturally in your skin. It’s a building block for new collagen, and it helps your skin become smoother, firmer and more youthful-appearing.
The hyaluronic acid preparation used in Juvederm is obtained from a proprietary process using “Hylacross” technology which cross-links the HA for best results and longest action.
WHAT IS IT USED FOR?
It’s a popular anti-aging treatment. With age, your skin begins to lose HA, so you lose volume and structure. That contributes to wrinkles and lines in your skin. Juvederm corrects moderate-to-severe facial lines and wrinkles such as “smile lines” and “crows feet.”
WHAT KIND OF RESULTS SHOULD I EXPECT?
The treatment helps smooth moderate-to-severe wrinkles around your nose and mouth. The results can last as long as a year under optimal conditions.
Most patients choose to have follow up treatments for optimal results.
HOW IS JUVEDERM DIFFERENT FROM OTHER KINDS OF DERMAL FILLERS?
Juvederm is said to be the longest-lasting dermal filler based on hyaluronic acid, with up to a year of visible results after a treatment. That’s because of the cross-linked HA, which helps form strong new collagen for firm, smooth skin.
IS IT RIGHT FOR ME?
You shouldn’t use Juvederm if you have a history of allergic reactions in general, or if you’re allergic to lidocaine or the kinds of proteins uses to build hyaluronic acid.
Your physician will review your medical history and help determine whether a particular treatment is right for you. We have more than 25 years of experience with using dermal fillers to help you look and feel your best.
