Restylane Silk FAQs
What is Restylane Silk?
Restylane Silk, Restylane and Perlane are all members of the same family of products. Each one is a gel formulation of hyaluronic acid (HA) specifically designed to mimic your body’s own hyaluronic acid.
Restylane Silk is a lip filler that can instantly produce visible results. Here at Mountain View Dermatology & Aesthetics, we use Restylane Silk to give our patients thick, luscious lips as well as to reduce moderate-to-severe face wrinkles and folds.
How does it work?
Restylane in general adds fullness and volume to correct wrinkles in the face. Restylane Silk lip filler is designed specially to enhance the fullness and beauty of your lips.
Restylane lip filler works in two ways. First, it immediately provides volume to fill the lips and treat the lines around them.
Once in place, over time the hyaluronic acid works to stimulate your body’s collagen production, which builds firmer, more-youthful lips.
How is Restylane Silk different from other dermal fillers?
Aging often thins the lips, causes them to lose their shape, or creates vertical wrinkles above the mouth. Restylane Silk is designed to provide optimal improvements in those areas.
Silk lip filler is formulated specifically to provide long-lasting, natural-looking improvements in the lips and the skin around your mouth. That’s because it’s made of much smaller HA components than those in other dermal fillers.
Is Silk right for me?
In a blind clinical study where some patients were treated and others weren’t, researchers reported that almost 80% of people who received Restylane Silk lip filler showed an improvement in lip fullness when measured eight weeks after treatment.
In another clinical study, an impressive 98% of patients reported improvements when measured two weeks after treatment. And, more than 75% of those who received Silk still had full lips 6 months after treatment.
